Laws are written, inadequacies are found and the laws are rewritten to address those inadequacies. <br /><br />I don't think this book can even be entered in the ban or not to ban argument. That arena is for more subtle topics, not something as reprehensible, illegal and disgusting as child predators.<br /><br />I think this is where the line needs to be drawn in the ban or not to ban argument. We all have the right to practice whatever religion we choose as long as it does not molest our fellow human. We all have the right to voice our opinions and protest, as long as it does not molest our fellow human.<br /><br />These are topics that have been controversial in the ban or not to ban argument, namely religious and political texts, as well as some texts on sexuality.<br /><br />That's fine. These books deserve protection because their subjects do not advocate the molestation of our fellow human.<br /><br />If its illegal to have sex with a child, why should a criminal have the right to promote such a horrific and illegal act against another human? It should just be one more right a criminal loses when he or she is guilty of a crime of such severity. <br /><br />Paired with incarceration, I think it a fitting punishment.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
