My Mama Loves Me: I’m Her Little Girl
Discussion, Book signing and reception with author, Shanalee Sharboneau

My Mama Loves Me: I’m Her Little Girl has the same lullaby as text from Shananlee’s first book, My Mama Loves Me: I’m Her Little Boy but the gorgeous illustrations by Israel Dilean really makes the love between mother and daughter come alive with equal intensity as the first book.  Stop by Paragraphs to view these two books and fully appreciate the quality and detail of the artwork.
Shanalee's son Braydon was born in 2010 with severe reflex. She and her husband, Perry, spent the first 6 months with their son on a 24/7 vigilant watch to make sure his condition did not bring him back to Heaven.

Shanalee spent countless days rocking her son humming nursery tunes to calm him. None of them worked, until she began to hum a melody which later formed words. These words turned into lyrics, lyrics turned verses, and the verses became the beautiful lullaby she sang to her newborn son entitled "My Mama Loves Me".
After Braydon’s reflux went away, Shanalee wrote down all the melodies to the lullaby so she would not forget the loving song she once sang to her infant son, over and over again, to calm him in his time of need. This became the book, My Mama Loves Me: I'm Her Little Boy, followed by My Mama Loves Me: I'm Her Little Girl, the second in her childrens series, My Family Loves Me.

Shanalee's books are sold at Paragraphs and online all over the world, including Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Africa, Russia, Germany, Japan, China, Mexico, Spain, Italy and France. She was featured on "Moving America Forward" hosted by William Shatner.

Her books have been recognized by Financial Guru, Dave Ramsey, The President of Ireland, Michael Higgins and Former First Lady, Laura Bush.
This event is free and open to the public.

“The West Texas Pilgrimage”
Discussion, Book signing and reception with author, Matt Wolthoff

Hunter’s friend Ty survived war in the Middle East only to succumb to cancer at home. On a quest with his college buddies and Ty’s father, Hunter journeys from South Texas into the mountains and desert of West Texas to bury his close friend. During this trek, they’ll drink, hunt, party, and encounter unexpected people and enthralling landscapes as Hunter deals with his grief, compounded by his struggle with depression and obsessive–compulsive disorder.

The West Texas Pilgrimage is a love letter to West Texas and the wild culture that defines it. Author M. M. Wolthoff vividly depicts the regional landscape, exploring intriguing stops along the way and the authentic context of music, food, and language integral to this generation of Texans, while frankly and thoughtfully addressing relationships, mourning, and mental illness, with characters as unforgettable as the region itself.

Matthew Martin Wolthoff lives in McAllen, Texas, with his wife, Lucy Ann, and three children, Hunter Ann, McCoy Martin, and Kerr Dunkin. He grew up in a military family, living all over the world until finding home in South Texas, where he went to high school in San Antonio. He is a graduate of the US Air Force Academy and has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio. His parents instilled a passion for reading and writing in him early in life that grows stronger every day. An avid outdoorsman, he finds his inspiration—and peace of mind—in the shallow waters of the Lower Laguna Madre and the wilderness of the South Texas brush country. His first West Texas pilgrimage was in 2010. It was a life-changing event.

This event is free and open to the public.
