Meet the Author Series

Saturday, September 27th 2014       1-3 PM

“South of Good”

Discussion, Book signing and reception with author, Randall Reneau

Hardin Steel, Stainless to his close friends, had started strong: Texas A&M, the Corps of Cadets, a commission in the U.S. Army, and a Bronze Star and Purple Heart in Iraq One. Then came  twenty years with the DEA, their request he retire, two ex-wives he’d married because they were named after ’50s TV wives, and a bit of a drinking problem.

Recently elected to his first term as Sheriff of Cameron County, the southernmost county in the great State of Texas, Hardin is getting his life back on track. He’s dating Rory Roughton, a rich and beautiful sixth-generation Texan, who comes complete with a high-dollar condo on South Padre Island.

Life is good until Hardin’s old friend, pilot extraordinaire and marijuana smuggler Wes  Stoddard, gets crosswise with neo-Nazi Frederick Ochoa-head of the most brutal cartel in Mexico. Ochoa dispatches Russian mercenary Alexsie Yazov to deal with Stoddard. And things begin to go south of good . . .
