“With the Sun in my
Eyes: the True Story of Maria Raindancer, Shamanic Practitioner
and Psychic Reader

Book reading and signing with author, Mikaya Heart

With the Sun in My Eyes tells the inspiring true story of the shamanic healer and psychic, Maria Raindancer, providing an in-depth look into how she works with energy, exactly what she sees, and how she interprets her visions. In an intimate and conversational style, Ms. Heart weaves together many exciting stories she gathered from comprehensive interviews with Maria, her family, friends, and clients. The reader is left with a breathtaking awareness of the depth of Maria’s ongoing relationship to spirit. Be prepared for an engaging read, as Maria battles demons and century-long familial curses; exorcises tenacious and often evil energies; removes dead entities which are still haunting the living; and acts as a go-between enabling dead people to talk with their still living families. She follows the constant instructions of spirit to the letter and never works without her intrepid power animals, Leopard and Raven. Born with exceptional gifts, Maria trained from the age of fourteen with a Cheyenne teacher. She now does energy clearings, soul retrievals, psychic readings, extractions, and house blessings on a daily basis. The steps involved in her work are described in detail, from Maria’s point of view as well as the client’s. This is a holistic perspective on the life of a healer who works outside the physical arena, achieving remarkable results in realms unknown to most of us.

Mikaya Heart is an author, speaker, kitesurfing instructor, and a coach in the Art of Being Fully Alive, which is about learning to operate from a place of trust rather than fear. She was born in 1952 on a farm in Scotland. After studying biology at York University in England, she worked on John Seymour’s organic farm in Wales, and later trained in agricultural mechanics. She became very active as an environmentalist and a lesbian feminist from 1978 onwards. In 1982 she immigrated to northern California, where she built a house out of recycled lumber, ran an organic market garden, and raised free-range hogs. In 2002, she had several remarkable experiences which might be called spiritual, sold most of what she owned, and has been traveling ever since. She has been held up at gunpoint several times in her life; visited Afghanistan as a barefoot hippie before the Russians invaded; kayaked solo for eight days in Alaska; walked to the edges of volcanoes in Hawaii; and spent weeks seeing no one in remote parts of Australia. She loves her life.

She is also the author of numerous short stories and articles published in anthologies and on-line.

This event is free and open to the public.
